Sweet Surprises - A Good Things post

There have been a few sweet surprises in my life lately, so I thought I'd share a few with you today. I entered a giveaway on The Design Files/Beci Orpin feature and was the super-lucky winner of this fabulous bag from P.A.M.
Every time I see it, I wanna sing "Rock Lobster" by the B-52's

A couple of really thoughtful Christmas time gifts from some work colleagues. Lauren baked and decorated the most incredible dinosaur cookies you have EVER seen. (I know Christmas is long gone... I can't explain my tardiness - I have had these photos sitting here forever!)

And David drew a little portrait of everyone - I'm so happy I have a kitty in my handbag, plus my cat leggings. The attention to detail is so wonderful.

Back in January when I co-hosted my first Totally Awesome Blog Hop, Sabina drew the 4 hosts for her post promoting the hop. I was so excited to be featured in one of her beautiful drawings!

Finally, Catsi spotted the Found feature I wrote on her "I got important cat shit to do" bag. As a thank you, she sent me this awesome pack of stickers from her store. It was such a sweet gesture and I'm scheming about places I can cat-ify.

One of my goals for the new year was to keep a 'good things' jar, I might consider these a 'good things' blog post! It's so nice to be on the receiving end of a kind gesture, and even better to be the gesture-r, I think. Everyone this week should do at least one kind 'out of the ordinary' thing for someone, it doesn't have to be big, just a compliment, a small gesture, making time to spend with your family. It's so easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of everyday life that you forget the small things. Someone taking the time to bake something for you, send you a letter, draw you a picture, it makes such a difference.

How about it?

P.S. The best kind gesture is a secret one, bragging about them takes the shine off a little, right? So I'm only going to post the kindness I've been on the receiving end of and hopefully I've payed these kind deeds forward and then some. I'll keep trying :)

What I Wore - Peach Sparkles and The Key To My Heart

C and I wandered down to the National Park by our house and took these pictures on a very hot summery day in Autumn. It's like summer decided to have one last hurrah before slinking away to visit the northern hemisphere for a season. It was a welcome warmth and the perfect opportunity to say hello to the ducks.

March in Review

Well March has gone by in a flash! I suppose I was so caught up in planning for our holiday that everything else is a blur. Here's a reminder of our favourite posts this month:

I snapped some photos as I drive through the car wash for the very first time. I was pretty excited and delighted, it's a little scary but so much fun! I love how the photos came out too, I was worried they'd be blurry and nonsensical, but I managed to get some really interesting shots.

A fun outfit shot on a gloomy day. I love all of my 'fruit' accessories, I have a pretty good collection now.

I hope my travel and vacation tips helped any would-be travellers out, I enjoyed sharing my tips gained from my travel experiences over the years.

Photos by the beach on a super windy day! In one of my favourite dresses :)

This interview with Amanda was so much fun to write and I really enjoyed reading her answers as well, I hope you found it interesting.

One last travel-themed post, because so many people cannot believe we travel with carry-on across the world. In this post I show you how!

C and I took a little jaunt up to Katoomba, which is about an hour and a half driving west of Sydney. It's a lovely little Art Deco era town in the mountains, and I'm actually going to cheat and share some pictures from our trip over the next couple of Wordless Weekend posts, as I won't be editing photos in Japan (I'll save the Japan scenery for when we return) I booked the couple of nights in the mountains on a whim, needing a refresh from the city, and then a few weeks later, booked Japan. I considered cancelling the mountains trip, but hey, you can never have too many holidays, I say!

Everything else is really a blur for me this month, so I'll leave it at that. Thanks for reading, following and commenting, I love hearing your thoughts and sharing stories and inspirations with you. April holds some exotic Japan adventures for me, so I'm looking forward to my next monthly recap so I can tell you more about it!

Found #53

Today I am visiting Tokyo Disney! I'm so excited to be in Japan, so I thought I'd make a Japanese themed Found this week :)
Have you guys seen shironeko? I think he may be the MOST chilled out cat in the entire world. There are so many cute pictures of him (follow the link) but this is one of my favourites. I'm going to use my Japanese skills to translate his name for you too: Shiro = White Neko = Cat. WhiteCat. Makes sense.

I'm a little fond of the Kawachi Fuji Wisteria Tunnel. Just a little. It is nearby where I am traveling. Do you think it's worth a detour? hmmmm.

Unfortunately this festival ended a few days before we touched down in Japan. How incredible does it look?! I love fairy lights. This is something else...

My favourite Japanese food :D It's a sweet of course. Have ou tried Mochi? They'e also called Daifuku. Check out the image link if you want a detailed description! They are a sweet rice treat. My favourite is Azuki, which have a red bean filling.

I am beside myself about visiting Koyasan in about a week's time. This heritage listed area is so incredibly beautiful, it looks like a film set! We are staying in a temple with some monks. This cemetery has the lanterns lit each evening at twilight. I cannot believe we are going here.

I hope your weekend is awesome! We are off to Shibu-Onsen on Sunday to relax in some hot springs and visit the Snow Monkeys :D
