Photo A Day #80 Little Whispers Among The Leaves

For some reason, every Saturday I just feel down. I think my body protests after my punishment during the work week and just collapses on the weekend. Which is a shame, as I'd really like to get outside and go on Opal Whiteley style 'explores'. Today I just slept on and off until after lunch time. I had another headache, which I was hoping would be gone each time I woke up, but alas, it hung around. I took my nanna blanket and the cushion I made last weekend and sat under the trees, reading a magazine and listening to the whispers among the leaves.

Unfortunately in Australia, we don't traditionally have a lot of deciduous trees. I always wanted to live somewhere where all the leaves changed colour like in the books I read when I was little (why are all the books I read based in New England?!) Happily, my neighbours have one which borders on our fence line, so in the sea of greenery, there is a little burst of happy autumnal joy!

I think I'm extra lucky because this particular tree seems to carry every colour, from green to purple, red, orange, yellow and even pink! It's incredibly beautiful and I spend a lot of time looking at the leaves against the bright blue sky.

It always amuses me that the autumn leaves are mingled with the palm fronds of the tree in our yard. It seems so incongruous!

When I grow up, I want to live in either a rotting Victorian mansion, or a log cabin. Both would need to be isolated in the woods, preferably in New Hampshire somewhere. And I would have lots of beautiful autumn trees likes weeping maples. Oh, and cherry blossoms, apple blossoms, plum blossoms and any other blossoms you care to think of in an avenue down the path leading to my house. And a pond with carp and an old fountain. And fluffy kitties everywhere! A girl can dream right?

Tomorrow I need to try and fit in at least two photo shoots (outfit and creative) as well as visiting my mom, mother-in-law and grandma, as well as seeing my grandfather who is still in the hospital. I'd also like to try and go to the gym, as I missed my class today. I also need to try and find a birthday present for my sister and I have no idea what to get her!? Can I please add some hours to the day. 24 ain't cuttin' it! Naughty me for having a lazy day today (but it was necessary!)

  4. Are they deer socks or mittens? They are too cute! I have made a mod cloth short list. And a TUK shortlist. Or you can pay for my airfares to go to America ;) Just some ideas!

    1. Pfft! Would I wear mittens on my feet?! They are socks, and my job title is not yet Graphic Design Millionaire. So the airfares might be a teensy bit out of my budget, but I'll see what I can do ;)
